GL Accountant

Role Description The GL Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Halen, responsible for maintaining accurate and timely general ledger records. Day-to-day tasks include posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and preparing financial reports in accordance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards. The role also involves assisting with audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and collaborating with other finance and business teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Strong general accounting knowledge, including experience with general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other common office applications.
• Understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or local GAAP) and internal control principles, with the ability to apply them in day-to-day work.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and management teams.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a similar GL or financial accounting role, ideally within a multinational or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Halen and align with RPM’s values of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
